I’ve started a new online course with Future Learn : Start Writing Fiction. This is our first assignment.
Write a paragraph (50 to 100 words) containing one fact and three fictitious elements.
You can write about yourself, about your interests, about history – about anything you like. Then try the reverse – write a paragraph containing three facts and one fictitious element.
I opened the freezer compartment of our fridge and fetched the vodka bottle. I needed the feeling the beverage gave me : relief from stress, troubles, daily trivialities, life. I barely felt it slide down my throat but my body recognized its benefits immediately. I felt up lifted and hungry. My right hand reached for the box of After eight thins while my left hand swirled the remaining little water in its glass. My history with the english chocolate dated from childhood and always carried a sense of merriment and innocence. I still could see the hand of my grand father picking a slice in the box, rugged, bruised, shacking but always steady when the chocolate was grabbed.
The TV unraveled news from the entire world, puked shocking images and lacrimal testimonies. I sat in my couch, pulled the tartan plaid over my legs and swallowed a sip of vodka and and after eight thin in alternance each time I heard or saw something upsetting. Neither the bottle of vodka nor the box of chocolates survived the evening, but I did, happily asleep before nine.
Can you guess which elements are true and which are fictitious ?
