I do not want to curse my inspiration

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: « Brainwave.

I’m currently working on it. This idea is one I got for a novel and I will be writing it in November.
And I do not want to curse my inspiration so I won’t write about it now.
I’ll be writing advancement posts as the writing moves forward.
You’ll be able to follow my project, and I really hope you guys be able to read the book one day, because I love the story.

So today, as a consolation item, I’ll leave you with the video of Joss Whedon’s Nerd HQ Pannel.
It’s brilliant, it’s inspiring.

Turbulences

Ce poème étrange est une réponse au prompt du jour sur le blog  DailyPost : Doubters Alert – What commonly accepted truth (or “truth”) do you think is wrong, or at least seriously doubt?  Why?

Voyageurs de tous horizons
Voiture, train ou avion
Traversent des masses d’air

Aiment une stabilité hors pair
A la moindre petite turbulence
Diffusent un gros contre sens

On parle de trous d’air
Sans se soucier de la vérité
Ni de tous les angoissés

Ce qu’il se passe vraiment ?
L’air ne peut pas être troué.
Il agit un peu comme le café.

L’air se déplace en masse
En fonction de sa densité
Comme le thé dans une tasse.

Aspirez du café avec une paille
Pas de trou, aucune faille :
Le café se déplace. C’est tout.

From A to Z

So, the man wants to know
Wether I’d rather have a go
At childhood, teen age or
adulthood… I want more

The beauty of the babies
And the joy of the kids.
Adults pop champagne lids,
Spend old days without rabies

I say

Live to the fullest
And forget about the test
The point of the journey
Is to go from A to Z

Ten seconds later (August 31 st)

Bullet noises invaded the laboratory. Yolande raised her head from her microscope and lifted an interrogational brow to Amanda who shook her head no and waved her lady doctor to keep working. She only started worrying when she heard bumps on the door.
– Yolande, babe, what are you doing ?

Yolande, always the analyst, started to pile files.
– Gathering intel about our enemy, his gun force and then formulate a response.
– We’ll be dead by then. Let me handle this.

Amanda put her bionic leg on, fetched her hatchet and burst the door open.

Ten seconds later the corridor was quiet.

Only one leads to them all (August 30 th)

Danny  shuffled casually the pages of the grimoire. Lucy and Derek stared at him eyes wide, jaw dropped.

– What are you gonna chose ?
– Invisibility ? Reading thoughts ? Eternal Youth ? asked Derek

Danny shook his head and tssk-tssked them both and closed the book.

– Oh, come one Dan, what’s your plan ? Lucy said sitting next to him.
– Guys you really need to think ahead. All good things come to an end and only one leads to them all : power.
– Yeah, I’d like that, Derek dreamt aloud.
– Get ready, we need to make an offer to our goddess of wealth.
– A gift ?
– A corpse.

Only 3 hours to go (August 28 th)

This post is an answer to today’s prompt of the Dailypost : The Middle Seat.

It is also a part of the Casey and Sabina’s Saga. It takes place just before « Libérée, délivrée« .

Alexander arrived at the boarding gate out of breath. He was finally going home.

On the plane, he was relieved he got himself a window seat.
“Only 3 hours to go” he thought.

– Hi, said the young woman sitting herself next to him.

He waved hello.

– Went to the duty free ? she asked, pointing at the plastic bag on Alex’s lap.
– I’m proposing tonight, I can’t come empty ended
– How exciting ! Who’s the lucky one ?
– Casey. Casey Chambers. My darling Casey.

The woman sighed loudly.

– I’m afraid you’re not.
– What ?
– Your father wants you back at the Plant.
– No way.

Former episodes of the saga :

1/ Tell him or lose him anyway

2/ Libérée, délivrée

3/ Wish him well

4/ Purple hair, purple hair

5/ Out of his mind

Try me, hold me, love me (August 26 th)

Tonight I thought I might try to tell a story as a song. It’s supposed to match this music.

Come and linger
At a parisian restaurant
He’s the chief waiter
I’m a regular client

Will you dare, will you dance, will you ask
“Would you take my number ?”
You’ve already got my heart
Try me, hold me, love me

He’s coming at my table
Sliding between chairs and people
Sorry miss, we’re gonna close
The door, please take this rose

He does not realize I suppose
I came for him not a flower
I guess I’ll ask him later
Am I the one he chose

Try me, hold me, love me
Oh take a chance on me, on me, on me

–
Prem’s au bar pour mes 16 ans !

Gia partait déjà.
–
Il faut agir. Ce soir, déclara Danny.

For I’ll be sleeping sound (August 25 th)

Hiding it in my pocket
Or a Fish tank or a rocket
Away from the pry
Sorry mate, I gotta be sly

You wanna know what it is
This little parcel of mine ?
Does it whittle? Does it shine ?
Telling’s my pleasure, I’m dibs.

A magic trick : I’m literally ripping
A word out of the life dictionary.
Won’t leave you feeling icky.
But you’ll see some glue dripping

I’m changing the world
From A to Z. Effortless
Revolution, gently swirled
With a book, and a prowess.

There you go, bigotry is out
Go celebrate but please don’t shout
For I’ll be sleeping sound
Knowing my homies are safe around
