Writer’s quote Wednesday : Joseph Heller

hellerost writers I know are passionate about heir art but they still feel a difficulty to reach within themselves for that magic spark that’ll help them write what they want and how they want it.

Sitting at our desk everyday, writing and struggling against those troubles is what pushes us out of our comfort zone and helps us writer finally produce the best we can.

Writing is an habit but also a huge act of faith in ourselves, in our ability to overcome doubts and create forward.

Wednesday Writers Quote : Elizabeth Gilbert

Elizabeth-Gilbert-fr

Again, one of the biggest lessons I have learned on my creative journey. If you want it to count, finish it. If you want to share your story, write it down to its end.

Your inner editor will urge you to polish that first chapter before moving on to the next. Don’t listen to him. Forgive yourself for not coming up with perfect writing the first time around and write the rest of the story till its final word.

And take a cue from the process while doing it,  provide your readers with a satisfying ending.

Wednesday Writers quote : Albert Einstein

Curiosity is one of the most enjoyable part of writing. Isn’t it what we experience when we wonder what if ? and when we try to answer the question « why ? ».

La citation du mercredi : Winston Chuchill

winston-churchill-101240

Writers Quote Wednesday : Winston Churchill

winston-churchill-101240

This quotes sounds to me like a sound advice for both the writer and the character. As writers, we are in a business that rejects us. All the time. One of the big differences between a published writer and a non-published one is perseverance. Quality of the writing comes afterward.

For characters, well, their destiny is to walk the path of the most resistance. If they give up, there is no story.

Writer’s quote Wednesday – John Rogers

This piece of advice really did help me develop the antagonist of my last novel. I understood that my vilain was the hero of his own story.
He took a brand new dimension. he wasn’t good versus evil anymore but two characters who fought for what they believed was good, with antagonist point of views.

Wednesday writers quote : Natalie Goldberg

It took me a long time to understand this quote. I thought I was to write « This thing scares me » but I was wrong. We are to illustrate our fears in the most terrifying way in order to convey emotions and work on shock value.

I use this quote cautiously because when I illustrate one of my fears, I can’t stop shaking for days, even if my readers are happy.
