Electric blue shoes (August 3rd)

Electric blue shoes made Daisy feel like a goddess. She felt stamina raising up her legs, waking butterfies in her tummy up and lighting her heart. She was lifted to the sun.

«That color stings the eyes, how dare she wear those ugly shoes ? » she heard a woman spit.

Not so long ago, Daisy would have been mortified, red faced and driven back to home by her ill conscious.

But she had learned not to stumble upon what a tart bitch said so she faced Ms Vinegar : « You know what ? They make me feel fabulous ».

This post is an answer to today’s writing prompt on the Dailypost blog :  Isn’t your face red.

I liked working on this one because I have been able to connect it to a sincere emotion right away, which is rare enough to be noticed.

This story is a part of my summer writing challenge : writing a 100 word story everyday, the 25th installment.

You can read all the details of my challenge and my reasons for doing it (and not CampNaNoWriMo) here.

I hope you will like today’s story and please do not hesitate to leave a comment.

  1. Loved your blue shoes story today.
Me at 52 years old, would still blush, put my eyes down and walk home a bit sad, but I’m working on it!
Like you I’m on a challenge to write better, and with Blogging101 I hope to finally start publishing a blog.
I’m Portuguese, trying to write in English, and now that I « found » you I will also brush up on my French which as been a little put aside (I can read and understand pretty well, but speaking it and writing – oh writing – is a whole other matter.
    Looking forward to your stories.
    Isabel
